You want your eyewear to be unique and stand out at the same time. Lake Superior is definitely your signature. The geometric brow pairs perfectly with the seamlessly rounded bottom edge of the eye shape. The custom hand laminated acetates combine cleaver color stories that are both tasteful and expressive.

Name Origin: Minnesota

Originally named gichi-gami (Great Sea) by the Ojibwe, Lake Superior creates the distinct arrowhead shape of Northeastern Minnesota. When the British took control of the region, they changed the lake’s name to Superior, due to its great size, which makes sense as it is the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area, the third largest by volume, and holds 10% of the world’s fresh surface water. This inland sea holds enough water to cover the entirety of North and South America to a depth of 12 inches and is fed by over 200 rivers. Annual storms on Lake Superior regularly feature wave heights of over 20 feet and waves well over 30 feet have been recorded. It is no wonder then that the Edmund Fitzgerald was battered so intensely that the 729- foot ship split in half, coming to rest at a depth of 88 fathoms (530 ft). The port of Duluth-Superior, the most inland port in the world, is one of many great places to see this vast Minnesotan sea.
